“You Have to Know What You Want.” Finding clarity with Limor Bergman Gross.
Dec 14, 2023 Season 2 Episode 104
Jenny Alday Townsend

Limor Bergman Gross is a former Director of Engineering with over 20 years of experience in the tech industry as an engineering leader, now she is an executive coach for women in tech leadership.

Today's episode is perfect for mothers and wives, individuals looking to start their own businesses or any business professionals.

As a mom of four, she had to make the conscious decision to start putting herself first and reclaiming her life. This meant doing things she had wanted but had been unable to do before. She became vegan even though it meant preparing two separate meals and learned to enjoy running.

“Going to the gym is my psychologist… for me what really helps me de-stress, think clearly, gain my confidence, all of the above is working out.”

All of these personal life changes led to the confidence to quit her job and start her own business, even though she didn’t have a clear business plan yet.

“It's important to have the mindset that maybe you don't know all the answers, and that's okay. Don't worry too much about that. …sometimes we just need to know what we want set goals and not worry too much about the how. Because the how can get in the way.”

She reminds us we have to be “very resilient as a business owner...be patient. Take a small step forward and realize that eventually, it will happen.”

When it comes to stroking our spouses Limor’s advice is to “be the best spouse that you can.” She shared how when she was frustrated and ready to throw in the towel with her business it was her husband who believed in her and encouraged her to keep going.

When it comes to the professional setting Limor advises “In order to lead well, you need to adjust your leadership style based on the individuals that work with you.” She shares advice on how to convey your message effectively even when working with people with different priorities and personalities and shares the first bit of coaching she does with her clients, finding clarity.

In closing, she reminds us to “believe in [ourselves], and live the life [we] deserve.”
