“Hire for Culture & Teach the Skills” Leading a Fulfilling Life and Business with CFO Kevin Palmieri
Mar 21, 2024 Season 2 Episode 118
Jenny Alday Townsend

In today's episode, I interview  Kevin Palmieri, the CFO, founder, and co-host of Next Level University. Kevin is a go-getter and despite living what from the outside seemed like the perfect life in his early 20’s he was struggling with depression and when he found himself contemplating suicide he knew something had to change. Fast forward to him now running Next Level University where his life is committed to helping others find their purpose and make incremental change to improve their life.

Of course, we talk love languages, getting into how they can change as we grow and better understand our own needs. We discuss setting boundaries and how being a people pleaser can be rewarded in the professional world, all while having a very negative impact on our mental and emotional well-being.

Kevin also talks about struggling with imposter syndrome, and the effect it had on his mental health, listen to the episode for tips on how he combatted that.

“I just thought I got lucky more than other people. I had pretty successful relationships. I thought I was just lucky. I made a lot of money. I thought I was just lucky. I never allowed the things that I had accomplished to affect my self-worth in a positive way. And it was quite the opposite. I used to just beat myself up and assume I got lucky. Then I find all of this quote-unquote success and I start questioning, do I really deserve this? Am I really worthy of maintaining this?”

When it comes to the employee-employer relationship Kevin shares his perspective now that he has been on both sides of the coin. As an employee, the best trait to have is a willingness to learn and try. As an employer, it’s important to foster a community devoted to group and individual excellence. At his company, they focus on tracking daily habits that improve employees' lives both at work and at home. Kevin is a wealth of information, and I highly recommend checking out his podcast and online community, Next Level University.

About Kevin:

I am the CFO, Founder & Co-Host of Next Level University, a Global Top 100 Self-Improvement Podcast with more than 1,450 episodes and 850K+ listens in over 125 countries.

Some people find rock bottom... I found out that rock bottom had a basement.
In my mid 20's... I had it all. I had a beautiful girlfriend, high paying job, sports car, my dream body... but I still ended up sitting on the edge of a bed debating suicide.
After my rock bottom moment, I went all in on holistic self-improvement.
I was determined to overcome my anxiety, depression and to finally live the life I'd always dreamed of.

Years later, I now host a podcast that impacts hundreds of thousands of people in countries all over the world.
At this stage, I've helped grow the podcast into a multi six-figure business, and I've recorded well over 1,450 episodes. I've also given hundreds of speeches, trainings and coaching calls with people all over the world.
